Phil Klein cultivates community information in Seattle and beyond. Currently producing TEDxRainier in Seattle, Klein is also a business intelligence consultant with ProjectLine Services working with Microsoft and runs an independent consultancy, Pen & Pixel.
Klein builds connections between individuals, organizations and communities. This work led him to build web databases in collaboration with Child Care Resources, Senior Services, Philanthropy NW, Crisis Clinic, and others as well as to co-found and publish Sound Opportunities – a listing of nonprofit jobs and a guide to work in the nonprofit sector. Klein’s cultivation of community information includes working with network organizations such as NPower, N-TEN, and TechSoup and serving as lead developer on the TechAtlas project – an online planning toolset, expertise distribution and recommender system used by over 20,000 nonprofits and libraries worldwide, which was acquired by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
Phil attended TEDGlobal first in 2009, spoke at TEDx events in Anchorage and Albuquerque, and attended several more including TEDxSeattle and TEDxRedmond, all of which have inspired his engagement with TEDxRainier.
